MISSED IT! ‘Stute Comedy, The Blackwood Miner’s Institute: MUNDO JAZZ, MRS BARBARA NICE & mc JOHN ROBINS—Friday 13th May 2011

We challenge you to find a better Friday night out in Blackwood than ‘Stute Comedy: three top-quality comedians for a tenner … save money by getting your tickets in advance and use the change on your first pint.

Start the weekend as you mean to go on: in good company, having a laugh.

Mundo Jazz

Mundo Jazz

Mundo Jazz are a spoof World Music band whose mission is to teach us about peace, the environment, racial harmony and love.

It’s unfortunate, then, that they know absolutely nothing…

A beautifully subtle satire on the likes of Bono and Bob Geldof, Mundo Jazz are also superb musical and comic improvisers, frequently creating songs on the spot and veering off into spontaneous chaos. Worried about your carbon footprint? Don’t bother, you can buy one of theirs after the show …

Get your lighters out for a sway-along to Mundo Jazz’s ‘Peace Song’.

‘A sort of live, Latino Spinal Tap. Very, very, very funny.’
The Daily Express

‘… combine genuinely thrilling harmonies and killer songs with side-splitting gags. Their solution to Third World debt is the best joke I’ve ever heard. Period.’
The Times

‘Ludicrously brave and truly unique. Kill for a ticket (but not with guns)!’
The Scotsman

As seen supporting Johnny Vegas and Peter Kay.

Mrs Barbara Nice

Mrs Barbara Nice

Mrs Barbara Nice is the comedy creation of Janice Connolly. Barbara is your average Stockport housewife who given up the domestic bliss of Tupperware and Poundstretcher shops for the unpredictabilty of the comedy world. With the affectionate attitude of a playgoup leader at a wild Iggy Pop concert, Barbara is guaranteed to warm the heart of any audience.

Having recently supported both Johnny Vegas and Peter Kay, Barbara is now a circuit headline act in her own right, as well as being one of the most experienced comperes in the country. She has also performed solo shows in Edinburgh (Stand and Guilded Balloon), Brighton (Komedia and Pavilion Theatre) and Manchester (The Lowry).

“She’s on the road to comic stardom”
The Times

“As hilarious as it is possible to get.”
The Scotsman

… and your marvellous host JOHN ROBINS

John Robins

John Robins

John has quickly made his name as one of the most quick-witted, engaging comedians on the circuit. He has been guest presenter of BBC6 Music’s ‘The Russell Howard Show & The Jon Richardson Show’.

‘Fresh and Original’

‘Like discovering buried treasure’
